Melatonin is a natural hormone produced at night in the pineal gland. Melatonin has been used to ease
insomnia, combat jet lag, protect cells from free-radical damage and boost the immune system.

Midazolam is a benzodiazepine used for sedation and to relieve anxiety before surgical procedures.
It should only be used for sedation before or during an anaesthetic. It should not be prescribed for
insomnia or general anxiety since it is highly addictive and has a potential for abuse.

Mogadon (Nitrazepam) is a sleep medication used for the short term treatment of severe sleeplessness
(also known as insomnia) which is disabling, or subjecting you to unacceptable distress. Mogadon can
help overcome any difficulties in getting to sleep, but does not cure the underlying cause of insomnia,
it takes effect within 15-30 minutes after administration. Mogadon (Nitrazepam) also functions as a
muscle relaxant and can help relieve anxiety. It is also used to prevent certain types of epilepsy.

Noctamid (Lormetazepam) is a benzodiazepine, GABA enhancer (gamma amino butyric acid).
GABA is a major inhibitory chemical in the brain involved in inducing sleepiness and control of anxiety.
Noctamid remains active for many hours, and can cause drowsiness the next day.

Nootropil and Normabrain (Piracetam) is a nootropic psycho-stimulant having many uses, including
treatment of anxiety and various forms of dementia, epilepsy, age-associated memory impairment,
learning difficulties associated with ADD, dyslexia, attention and memory disorders, vertigo,
alcohol withdrawal etc. Piracetam is often referred to as a smart drug and intelligence booster.

Oxazepam and brand name Aleram is a short-acting benzodiazepine drug, meaning it is rapidly
eliminated from the body, which reduces the risk that the drug will cause drowsiness the next day. Oxazepam is used to treat anxiety and also sometimes to treat irritable bowel syndrome.

Pirazetam (brand names include: Nootropil and Myocalm) is used to relieve anxiety, muscle

Phenobarbital, a barbiturate, is used as a sleep aid and in the treatment of certain types of epilepsy,
including generalized or grand mal seizures and partial seizures. The Epilepsy Foundation adds that:
Phenobarbital is the oldest antiepileptic drug in common use. It is used for generalized tonic-clonic
and complex or simple partial seizures in adults and children. It may also be used for myclonic seizures.
Once considered to be a first line drug, it is now generally thought to be a second-line therapy because

Planum and Restoril (Temazepam) are benzodiazepine derivatives used for short-term (7-10 days)
management of insomnia, Temazepam increases total sleep time. Temazepam also treats anxiety.

Rivotril and Klonopin (Clonazepam) are primarily used for the treatment of certain types of epileptic
seizure disorders, specifically petit mal seizures, akinetic seizures, and myoclonus.
Other uses of Rivotril: used in the short term treatment of the symptoms of anxiety disorders and
